A Catholic Life: St. Nicholas of Tolentino

St. Nicholas of Tolentino was a kind and holy man who lived a long time ago in Italy. 

  1. Young Life: He was born around the year 1245 in a town called Sant’Angelo in Pontano. When he was young, he felt a strong desire to serve God and help others.
  2. The Augustinians: Nicholas became a priest in a religious group called the Augustinians. He moved to a town called Tolentino, where he spent the rest of his life.Β 
  3. Helping the Sick: He was known for his kindness, especially to the poor and sick. He would often visit people who were suffering and help them with whatever they needed.
  4. Gave Advice: St. Nicholas also loved to pray and would spend many hours talking to God. He was known for his simple and humble way of life. Many people came to him for advice and comfort because they knew he cared about them and wanted to help.
  5. Performing Miracles: One of the special things about St. Nicholas is that he is known for performing miracles. There are many stories about how his prayers helped to heal the sick and bring comfort to those in need.
  6. Feast Day: St. Nicholas of Tolentino teaches us the importance of kindness, prayer, and helping others. His feast day is celebrated on September 10.Β 

He reminds us that we can make a big difference in the world by caring for the people around us.
